Layer REP2 (6th) - Repeats, Ratcheting

Image

Step Repeats

Is the same feature: Step Repeats on Layer R1.

Repeat Velocity Offset

Similar to Repeat Duration Offset, but increases or decreases the velocity for each repeat.

Scale: -16 to 16

Repeat Note Offset

Similar to Repeat Duration Offset, but increases or decreases the step root note value by halftones for each repeat.

Note: When you use Note Offsets by default, B-Step does not simply use Step Note value plus Repeat Note Offset. No, B replace the resulting note value by the next matching value of your choosen Bar Chord or a transposition of it - so you can be sure that the note ratcheting will always sound good in relation to the other steps of your bar. To disable this you can use Free Notes.

- Scale: -12 to 12 (in halftones)

Note up’N’down

If you use Repeat Note Offset every repeated note will be increased or decreased. With this option you can make a mix of it.

Example Setup:
- Step Repeats = 4
- Root step notevalue = 60
- Repeat Note Offset = 2
- Note up’N’down = enabled
- Free Notes = enabled

Result:
- Root step will be triggerd with note value 60
- 1st repeat has 62
- 2nd repeat has 56
- 3rd repeat has 66
- 4th repeat has 52

Free Notes

Disables the lookup for best matching notes (explained in Repeat Note Offset).

Repeat Probability

The probability off any repeat steps. If you e.g. set it to 50% only every second repeat step will be triggered (in theory).

- Scale: 0% to 100%
